Kindiki ranked top performing CS yet again

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has been rated the best-performing minister.

In data released by TIFA on Thursday, Kindiki was rated with an overall score of 68 per cent, a mean grade of B.

This is the sixth time in a row, that the man in charge of the country's internal security has been rated as effectively performing his role.

The second highest rank is tied between Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and, Youth and Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba.

They both scored 59 per cent translating to a mean grade of C+.

ICT CS Eliud Owalo scored a C of 51 per cent while Defence CS Aden Duale had a C of 50 per cent.

Education CS Ezekiel Machogu and his Public Service counterpart Moses Kuria scored a mean grade of  C-.

Machogu got 48 per cent of the points with Kuria scoring 45 per cent.

Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen had 41 per cent (D+) with his Lands counterpart Alice Wahome getting 40 per cent (D+).

According to TIFA, the spiralling incidence of road accidents with their accompanying carnage has focused scrutiny of the Traffic section of the National Police Service as well as on the National Transport Safety Authority (NTSA) and the Ministry of Transport under which it operates.

The data was collected using telephone interviews after respondents' contacts were collected face-to-face.

"The interviews were conducted in Kiswahili (mainly) and English," Tifa said

The data was collected from a sample of 2,912 respondents, with a margin of error +/- 1.82  per cent.
