An accident involving a trailer and two motorcycles left two people dead and two others fighting for their lives in Mai Mahiu, Naivasha.

During the incident near Mai Mahiu town, two motorcycles each with one passenger clashed head-on throwing two occupants under the trailer that ran over them crushing them to death.

In the process, the two died on the spot while the other two were left nursing serious injuries and were rushed to the nearby health centre before being referred to Naivasha sub-county hospital.

A witness, Dan Kibe said that one of the motorcycles rider was overtaking the ill-fated trailer when it rammed head-on with another motorcycle.

In the process, one of the operators and a pillion passenger were thrown right under the trailer which in turn ran over them as residents screamed in horror.

“The two died on the spot while the other two were seriously injured and are admitted to hospital in serious condition,” he said.

Naivasha OCPD Stephen Kirui confirmed the incident adding that the bodies had been collected and taken to Naivasha sub-county hospital mortuary.

“We had an accident on Sunday where two people riding on two different motorcycles were run over and killed by a trailer near Mai Mahiu town,” he said.

Meanwhile, the body of a middle-aged man which was found dumped along the Naivasha-Mai Mahiu road last week has been identified.

The body whose one leg and several fingers were missing was identified as a boda boda rider from Eastleigh Nairobi as police moved to investigate how the body was ferried to the scene.

Last week, residents stumbled on the body which had deep stabs all over with one leg and several fingers severed off by the killers.

The OCPD confirmed that relatives of the victim had positively identified the body and transferred it to Nairobi for burial.

“The matter of the missing person was reported in Nairobi and our colleagues have taken over the case with initial investigations pointing to outright murder,” he said.
