National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula has been awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters by Kibabii University.
This is for his outstanding leadership and exemplary contribution to the people of Bungoma and Kenya at large.
Speaking on Friday during the University's 7th graduation, Wetangula thanked the Kababii Fraternity for their recognition.
"This honour is not just a reflection of my personal achievements, but it is also a holding of true to the hard work and dedication of many individuals who have supported and inspired me through my journey this far," he said.
"I pledge to uphold the values of this institution and to use my knowledge and skills to make a positive impact in the world."
Wetangula was accompanied by Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka.
