Odm campaigns for Malindi MP candidate Willy Mtengo have received a major boost after Rabai MP William Kamoti joined in barely a week to the March 7 poll.

Kamoti becomes the second MP from Kilifi county to support Kingi apart from county woman representative Aisha Jumwa, after five legislators rebelled against the county chief to support Jubilee’s Philip Charo.

MPs Gideon Mung’aro (Kilifi North), Mustafa Idd (Kilifi South), Peter Shehe (Ganze) and Harrison Garama Kombe (Magarini) are rooting for Charo.

Kadu-Asili’s Kaloleni MP Gunga Mwinga is campaigning for MP contestant Reuben Katana.

Addressing a rally at Mtangani on Tuesday, Kamoti urged residents to elect the ODM candidate because former MP Dan Kazungu, who was appointed Mining CS last year, was also an ODM MP.

“The Mijikenda culture dictates a clansman inherit a widow and not anyone from outside. We need to send Willy Mtengo to Parliament because as an ODM candidate he deserves to inherit the seat and not anyone else,” Kamoti said.
