Starehe MP Charles Njagua's two bodyguards and driver were injured in an accident on Kenyatta Road in Juja on Sunday.

Witnesses said a

motorcade was heading to Nairobi when their

Mercedes Kompressor rammed into a stationary vehicle.

They said the accident happened after a Toyota Isis with four occupants veered off the road and rolled several times.

Three of the people escaped unhurt while one sustained slight injuries.

"Some motorists parked their vehicles on the road and got out to look at the Toyota. All of a sudden, another car rammed into one of those that had been parked,” said David Gichure.

Gichure said that when Njagua's convoy reached the area, the vehicle the bodyguards had been travelling in rammed into another car.

"It has travelling at a high speed," he said.

“Motorists usually speed at this point because they are allowed to reach 100 kph. The driver of the Mercedes lost control."

The MP was not in the same car as the bodyguards.

Unconfirmed reports indicated they and the driver were taken to Kenyatta National Hospital. The wreckage was towed to

Juja police station.
