Lang'ata MP Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o has said that it will not be easy for Azimio to unseat President William Ruto in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on Thursday at TV47, Jalang'o said that Azimio leader Raila Odinga should start taking lessons from Ruto as early as now.

Jalang'o said that the reason behind his working with Ruto is to prepare for the next election.

"For five years continuously, Raila has tried to clinch the presidency but lost, maybe it was stolen or just lost fairly and it pains me. I asked myself why our party is the only one that has to cry over elections, I decided to work with the President so that we can prepare early because unseating Ruto in 2027 will not be easy," Jalang'o said.

"I want to ask Raila if he plans to vie or front someone else in the 2027 race, he should start taking lessons from Ruto."

Jalang'o said he has been friends with Ruto before he joined politics and the friendship gave him a hand in working with him.

"In 1997, he successfully vied for Eldoret North MP seat. In 2002, he joined hands with Uhuru. Uhuru lost the presidency but Ruto retained his MP seat," he said.

"In 2013 and 2017, he helped Uhuru clinch the presidency. Now in 2022, he became president, what does he have that we don't, maybe I'm there to learn."

Jalang'o has been in the eye of a storm after he became part of the 9 ODM MPs who declared that they will not be a party to Monday's demonstrations.

The legislator said he is working with Ruto to learn his skills for winning an election.

In an undated video of the MP speaking at a funeral in Siaya, he said he is keen on becoming the President of Kenya in future.

Jalang'o said the fact that Ruto has never lost an election drew him closer to him and was ready to take home his strategies and ways of winning an election.
