The Nairobi City County Government has urged rate defaulters to settle any outstanding payments within 14 days starting May 2, 2024.
In a notice from the office of Governor Johnson Sakaja, the affected persons have been advised to visit the NCCG Service Centre 1st Floor, City Hall, or the Nairobipay portal for the rates invoices.
"The owners of all the Land Registration System (LRS) numbers with balances as of April 11, 2024, are advised to make their outstanding payments within 14 days of this notice. Rates Invoices can be obtained at the NCCG Service Centre 1st Floor, City Hall or through self-service by creating an account on the Nairobipay online portal (www. nairobiservices.go.ke) and generating an invoice," the notice in the dailies on Thursday reads.
County Secretary and Head of County Public Service Patrick Analo said the list of all LRS numbers with land balances can be found at www.nairoi.go.ke.
To pay, customers are advised to use the NCCG revenue collection accounts once they obtain their invoices.
The accounts include:
Cooperative Bank under account name Nairobi City County Revenue Collection, account number 01141709410000.
Equity Bank under account name Nairobi City County Revenue Collection, account number 1770279910476.
Customers can also use USSD number *647#.
"Take notice that failure to pay the land rates will result in enforcement action in accordance with the law," Analo warned.
