YU Telekom suffer first defeat in Left Foot league
YU Essar Telekom suffered their first defeat of the season in the Left Foot Sports amateur league after falling 5-1 to Emmerdale Ltd in a one-sided Division Four match at Kilimani Primary grounds. Emmerdale, who lead the division, scored through Fredrick Omulindi (9th minute), Benzedy Ongeri (16th and 34th minutes), William Odidi (50th minute) and Isaac Njenga (59th minute) while Telekom’s consolation came via Chris Malaki in the 43rd minute.
Elsewhere, Airtel Africa hammered Titans 4-0, Tintoria Dry Cleaners edged out Khalsa 1-0 while Red Catalans came from behind to force a 2-2 draw against Rhino Special Products. Other results saw Tin Tin beat Real United 3-0, Nairobi West beat Gulf Energy 4-2 while Code FC went down 0-1 to Tandaza. Total Touch Cargo’s resurgence in Division One took a nose dive after they were beaten 4-0 by Mohammed Muigai. NPC Parklands sunk Strath 2-0, NIC Bank were held to a barren draw by Ericsson Kenya while Sky Train lost 0-2 to Consolidated Bank side.
The Division Two league witnessed a number of upsets with Safaricom Limited registering a convincing 2-0 win over Kenya Airways Cargo. Sunfit Gangsters threw away a 2-0 lead to settle to a 2-2 draw with Astral Aviation B, Lavington United were beaten 2-0 by Total Kenya, All Saint Catherdral edged out Bethel FC 2-0 while Rapid Communication managed a vital point after settling to a 1-1 draw with Black Diamond.
