Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and and Eldoret North MP William Ruto led 50 MPs in passing a resolution to remove Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka from the G7 Alliance. After weeks of speculation amid denials by Kalonzo that he was being sidelined, the MPs resolved to go it alone without him. Kalonzo and MPs allied to his Wiper Democratic Party were not invited to the meeting held at Sagret Hotel, Nairobi. The meeting resolved to remove Kangundo MP Johnstone Muthama as the G7 Alliance's chief whip and replaced him with Mosop MP David Koech.
