The photo of Uganda Police Force Spokesperson Fred Enanga pulling a catapult has been widely shared on social media.

According to the information being spread by some of the users, Enanga hit the news reporter with a catapult for asking an irrelevant question.

“Newly appointed Uganda police spokesperson hits News reporters with a catapult for asking an irrelevant question,” false information claimed.

According to credible information, the picture was taken in April 2021 when the Police Crime Intelligence Unit was probing how consignments of factory-made catapults were illegally imported to Uganda.

It was during the police press briefing when Enanga said that the suspects who imported the catapults had intentions to use them as tools of violence.

He then demonstrated how the ballistic device can be of danger to the Ugandans.

Enanga added that some people were using the catapults to cause violence and threaten the safety of the country.
