The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, has said that the Russian Federation must no be allowed to succeed in their offensive against Ukraine.

Speaking on Tuesday, Kuleba said that if this is done, it will set precedent for every aggressive country to want to do the same to their neighbours.

He insisted that it is in the best interests of most countries that respect for territorial integrity is restored.

"We believe that it is in the interest of the vast majority of state to restore respect for international law when it comes to territorial integrity because if Russia is allowed to succeed in Ukraine, every aggressive country in the world will be tempted to do the same to their neighbours," Minister Kuleba said.

He went on to say that if there is a country that wants peace the most, it is Ukraine.

The Foreign Affairs Minister reiterated that they did not start the war with Russia, but it is a situation that forces them to have to defend themselves.

"No country in the world wants peace more than Ukraine. Our country and people never wanted this war, we never attacked anyone and gave no reason to anyone to attack us.

"This is not a situation of two countries simply fighting each other, it is a situation when one country attacks another, occupies its land, kills its people, violates all international norms, commits unspeakable atrocities and does not want to stop. In these circumstances, there is no other choice for us than to defend ourselves," Kuleba said.

He added that the only way peace can be restored in Ukraine is through the peace formula by the Ukrainian President.

He said it will also ensure peace and stability across the globe if adopted.

"Our President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed the peace formula, it remains the only realistic plan for restoring just peace in Ukraine as well as global stability," Kuleba said.

Zelensky's 10-point peace plan, which includes radiation and nuclear safety, food security, energy security, release of all prisoners and deportees and implementation of the UN Charter and restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity and the world order.

It also seeks the withdrawal of Russian troops and cessation of hostilities, justice and immediate protection of the environment, prevention of escalation and confirmation of the end of the war.
