Kenya Film Commission CEO Timothy Owase over the weekend graced the inaugural Content Creator Awards ceremony that was held at the National Museum.

Owase said it is important to celebrate the innovations and dedication of content creators.

"Tonight we recognise the power of storytelling, the impact of creativity and the boundless possibilities of digital expression. Each of you here embodies the essence of what it means to be a content creator, pushing boundaries and inspiring others," he said.

He noted that content creators are currently shaping Kenya's digital landscape.

Owase said content creators bring unique stories, cultures and experiences to the forefront.

"Tonight, we not only honour the final product but also the journey of creation, the late night work, the moments of inspiration and the unwavering determination to bring ideas to life," Owase said.

He told content creators that their work can inspire change, educate and empower millions around the world.

He said the future of content creation is very bright.

Owase urged the creatives to remain focused and authentic in their art.

The inaugural Content Creators Award was attended by over 200 creatives who were part of a rigorous vetting and voting process.

Phase one of the voting process began in January while Phase 2 ended in March in the various categories including Best Visual Creator, Eco-Warrior, Inclusion and Diversity Advocate, and Best Podcast Content among others.

Over 100 winners were awarded during the event.

Content Creators Awards is a platform that seeks to recognize and celebrate the digital brilliance of creators who impact their world through storytelling, one pixel at a time.

The platform seeks to go beyond the Kenyan borders to the greater East African region for the second edition.
