Gor Mahia FC's enterprising midfielder Austin Odhiambo will be turning his guns on his former employer during their hyped Mashemeji derby clash against AFC Leopards on Sunday.

However, the fleet-footed playmaker remains unfazed by the prospect of suffering a backlash from the passionate Ingwe fans who will throng the stands to witness the scintillating duel at Nyayo stadium on Sunday.

In an interview on Friday, Odhiambo said he hopes Ingwe fans will understand he must fulfil, adding that he is not quaking in the boots ahead of their vicious clash of Titans.

Odhiambo said he would not hesitate to burn a hole in Ingwe's net should a perfect opportunity arise for him to do so.

"I'm aware I once donned the Leopards jersey but that does not restrain me from scoring against them if I find myself strategically placed to do so," Odhiambo remarked.

"Football is a job like any other work and I must meet the expectations of my boss. Part of my job description is to blast the back of the net and I will be glad to do so given a chance," he added.

Odhiambo has found the back of the net seven times this season to position himself for the Golden Boot gong.

Known for his exceptional dribbling exploits that leave opponents dazzled and the stands yearning for more, Odhiambo has been a crucial cog since signing for K'Ogalo in 2021.
