Sofapaka captain Humphrey Mieno reckons they have what it takes to cruise past Kenya Police FC in the eagerly-awaited FKF Cup quarterfinal clash at Dandora Stadium on Saturday.

In an interview on Thursday, the celebrated midfield virtuoso said they had already sharpened their talons enough to claw the law enforcers as they firmly train their eyes on the country's second-biggest silverware.

"We are eager to book a slot in the semifinals and it doesn't matter to us which route we take, whether via a penalty shootout or by simply getting the job done in regular time," Mieno remarked.

Mieno has been a pillar in Sofapaka's midfield since he arrived at Batoto Ba Mungu at the start of the season. He believes this is their season and they must pull all their resources together to crack a berth in the continental showpiece.

Other than bagging a handsome prize purse of Sh2 million, the winner of the competition will fly the country's flag at the next edition of the Caf Confederations Cup.

“We didn't come to the competition as mere participants. We are out to clinch the trophy and secure a chance to represent the country at the Caf Confederations Cup next season," Mieno stated.

The 2016 Kenyan Premier League titlist with 11-time champions Tusker will be hoping to hoist the coveted trophy and help his side garnish their cabinet with a second major national trophy.

He has rallied the club's passionate and ardent fans to turn out in large numbers and roar the players on.

“I'm sending a passionate plea to our loyal supporters to throng the Dandora stadium stands and cheer us on. This is the time we need them the most," Mieno remarked.
