Jambojet launches Mombasa to Zanzibar route

Jambojet has launched a new route from Mombasa to Zanzibar. This expansion marks another step forward in the airline's journey to connect East Africa, providing reliable, safe, and accessible air travel to people in East Africa.

Remarks by Jambojet MD and CEO Karanja Ndegwa during the inauguration said that the launch of the Mombasa to Zanzibar route is a testament to their ongoing efforts to enhance connectivity and increase capacity between Kenya and Tanzania, hence boosting the local economies and promoting cultural exchange.

“As a pioneer low-cost airline, Jambojet is proud to make air travel accessible to a broader segment of the population. Our competitive fares and extensive network of domestic and regional flights enable more people to explore the beauty and diversity of East Africa,” Ndegwa said.

He additionally added that the route will support regional trade by offering a swift and reliable means for transporting goods, benefiting businesses and contributing to economic growth in both Kenya and Tanzania through Cargo service.

Adding that overall, the Mombasa to Zanzibar route is set to strengthen ties and create new opportunities across the region.

“Our fares start from Sh24,420, which is Sh495,000 for a return flight. This is between 30% - 50% lower compared to what is currently available in the market. Customers on this route stand to gain significantly from the lower fares through cost savings, improved value, and increased travel opportunities," he added

Route will be operating 4 times a week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday. Departing Mombasa at 3:35 PM and arriving at 4:30 PM. The return routes will be departing Zanzibar at 5:10 PM and get to Mombasa at 6:05 PM.

At the same time, this year, Jambojet proudly celebrates a decade of operations.

“We have flown over 7.5 million passengers, supported regional trade, and contributed to the economic development of East Africa.”

He Further noted that the airlines success would not have been possible without the support of key stakeholders across board, including the Ministries for Roads & Transport, Civil Aviation Authorities, Airports Authorities, other partners across East Africa.
