Water and energy solutions provider-Davis & Shirtliff has launched a new line of affordable air compressors aimed at enhancing the profitability of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

According to the company, the new line of consumer-grade Dayliff Dcom air compressors is designed for powering pneumatic tools, hoists, spray painting, sandblasting, tire inflation, and various other applications.

The Dayliff Dcom air compressors are available in four sizes, with options for petrol engines or electric motor power.

These affordable air compressors, management said, are a significant relief for SMEs such as automotive repair shops, petrol stations, workshops, mechanics, and event planners who rely on air compressors for inflating products like inflatables.

“The new Dayliff Dcom compressors not only utilise high-quality fittings, setting them apart from the majority in the market, but they also comply with internationally approved safety, environmental, and health requirements. They are equipped with high-pressure safety release valves for enhanced safety,” said Martin Gwada, General Machinery Manager, D&S .

“These quality air compressors ensure that SMEs can use them for extended periods without issues of breakages, thereby boosting their income. D&S is also available to support clients with appropriate sizing to avoid overuse and unnecessary energy consumption,” he added.

The versatile Dayliff Dcom air compressors feature reliable, high-capacity reciprocating single-acting air compressor pumps, ensuring consistent performance and durability.

They are also equipped with an auto-start feature on electric models for convenience and efficiency, wheel-mounted designs for mobility and ease of transportation, and thermal cutouts on electric motor units to prevent overheating.

Projections indicate that the air compressor market in Kenya is expected to register significant growth in the coming years, driven by the development of special economic zones (SEZs) in the country.

These zones aim to promote industrial sectors such as textiles, food and beverages, iron and steel, automotive, pharmaceuticals, and paint manufacturing, all of which have fueled the demand for air compressors.

Small businesses have been crucial for job creation and economic development, serving as the engine of Kenya’s economy by accounting for over 30 per cent of the national output, according to the KNBS Economic Survey 2024.

Enabling access to quality and affordable products is one of the key ways to support SMEs, helping them avoid losses and potential closure.
