Lufthansa ups capacity on Nairobi route

Germany airline Lufthansa has deployed a wide body aircraft to Nairobi, in its latest expansion plans since resuming Kenya operations last October. Lufthansa Group has also increased its weekly flights on the popular Frankfurt – Nairobi route from three to four.

“We are thrilled to expand our operations this week and offer our customers in Nairobi as well as those travelling to Kenya an upgraded product in which we have invested €1 million (Sh113.2 million ) daily over the last three years,” Lufthansa East Africa regional manager Tobias Ernst said.

The flights will initially be operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays by an Airbus A340-300 in a three-class configuration. It will offer customers 18 Business Class seats, a new Premium Economy cabin seating, 19,261 Economy Class seats with a capacity of 298. The Saturday services will then switch to Friday commencing on October 30.
