Two people have been charged with burning of Kikuyu NG-CDF office during the Finance Bill protests.
Naftaly Njama and Joseph Waweru appeared before senior principal magistrate Peter Ooko and denied charges.
The charge sheet read that on June 25, 2024 with others not before court, willfully and unlawfully set fire on Kikuyu National Government Constituency Development Fund offices, valued at Sh20 million.
The two denied another charge that on June 25, they destroyed by setting on fire a motor vehicle, the property of Kikuyu NG-CDF worth Sh2.5 million.
The also denied another charge that on the same day they damaged the office of deputy county commissioner by breaking windows and perimeter fence valued at Sh600,000.
The prosecution was not opposed to bail of the two accused and requested that they be barred from communicating with witnesses directly or through proxy.
