The Spouse of the Deputy President Pastor Dorcas Rigathi has toured the Cynerd Hospital in Embu County, one of the facilities where she seeks to place some of the boys for rehabilitation.

Pastor Dorcas says the facility with a capacity of more than 300 inpatients also provides a good place to involve the boys in income-generating agriculture.

This is in line with the agenda of her office to dignify the lives of the boy-child through rehabilitation, skilling and empowerment.

The office of Pastor Dorcas will be doing some screening of the boys during a 2-day medical camp at the Embu Stadium (tomorrow and Thursday) to identify the cases that can be placed under rehabilitation.

Pastor Dorcas is on a 3-day working tour of Embu County.

This afternoon she is expected to address students of Embu University in her ongoing prevention program in institutions of higher learning.

Pastor Dorcas has been at the forefront of condemning the illicit brewers and drug barons and aims at recovering the youths affected by the vice within Embu County.

In the past, the Second Lady urged youths to frustrate the illegal dealers by avoiding the substance that is destroying their lives.

“Those who sell poison to you are trying to make money. How I pray that you make them poor. And we are serving them notice. Any person who sells those poisons is a murderer,” she said.

On her side, the Embu County governor Cecily Mbarire has vowed to rally behind Pastor Dorcas on her mission to ensure they rescue boy child from continuing drug and substance addiction.

She said the county won't let Pastor Dorcas handle the matter alone and will partner in realizing her dream.

"We cannot downlook the great work the Spouse of the Deputy president is doing and we'll ensure we hold hands together in realizing this dream," she said.

On her side, Dr Evangeline Njoka one of the Cynerd Hospital Directors assured of enabling Pastor Dorcas Rigathi's mission through their 5-acre facility that will embrace the required empowerment program for the rehabilitating boy child.

"We are ready to partner with 2nd Lady Dorcas Rigathi as I am happy and passionate about the boy child. Her Excellency Dorcas liked the facility so much that's why she partnered with us. We have enough facilities to host 300 inpatients and outpatient are about 400 or 500," said Dr Evangeline.

She said the partnership will accommodate enough time to ensure the patients recover and integrate back into society.

The second Lady was joined by Embu Governor H. E Cecily Mbarire, County MP Hon. Pamela Njoki Njeru and the Director of the facility Dr. Evangeline Njoka among others.
