Police in Machakos are investigating an incident in which a man allegedly lost his vehicle while attending a church in Machakos County.

Jones Muinde said his car registration number KBN 870T, a Toyota Voxy, was stolen in broad daylight as he attended mass service at AIC Bomani Church within Machakos Township on Sunday.

"I was in church and missed it at the parking when I went to pick it after the service," Muinde told the Star on the phone hours after the incident.

The matter was reported to Machakos Police Station as a motor vehicle theft incident report.

Muinde said he couldn't tell whether his car was broken into or a master key used to access and drive it away.

"I can't tell whether they (suspected thieves) broke into the vehicle or had a master key since I didn't find it," Muinde said.

He urged the public to be on watch out and alert him or relevant authorities in case they come across the car even as police launched probe into the incident.
