A 28-year-old man has been sentenced to seven years in prison by a Makueni Law Court after he pleaded guilty to the attempted rape charge.
Samuel Kamula Mule, appeared before Chief Magistrate Peter Gesora at Makueni law courts where he pleaded guilty to the charges leveled against him.
The court heard that Mule committed the incident on April 8, 2023, in Mbooni where he attempted to sexually assault the victim.
It was further disclosed that Mule who attacked the woman at 2 am, has been on the run since and was arrested on September 23, 2024.
“Considering the gravity of the offence, the fact that he evaded arrest for over one year, this court hereby sentences you to serve seven years in prison,” Chief Magistrate Gesora said.
