Mystery surrounds the discovery of two male bodies found on the roadside in Kamulu along the Nairobi-Kangundo highway on Monday morning.

Witnesses said the two men aged about 20 and 23 had deep wounds in the head and legs.

Police said the scene looked disturbed, an indication they were killed at the site.

They also said there were broken motor vehicle spare parts at the scene, whose source is yet to be known.

Police said the victims did not have their identification documents with them at the time the bodies were discovered.

The bodies were moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and identification.

Nairobi police boss James Mugera said they are investigating the incident.

He said they are yet to establish the motive and those behind it.

Meanwhile, a police officer was killed when a car he was driving was involved in an accident along Thika highway.

Constable Anthony Nderitu of Kiandutu police station was driving his salon car when he lost control and overturned.

Witnesses said the car was speeding towards Nairobi when the accident happened at about 3am.

He was alone in the car and had been on duty when he drove off in his private car.

It is not clear where he was headed or what happened to cause his inability to control the car and overturning.

He sustained head injuries and was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
