Sakaja pledges support to families of those found dead in Kware

The county boss also promised a reward to youths who helped in retrieving the bodies.

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has pledged to support families whose relatives were found dead in Kware, Mukuru Slums in Nairobi.

The Governor on Sunday said the support will include psychological and counselling to the families.

"We have mobilized our resources to help the families of the victims once they are identified, including providing psychological support and counselling at the funeral home," Governor Sakaja stated.

"To the affected families and friends, poleni sana. We stand with you and will give you all the support available," Sakaja said.

The county boss also lauded the efforts of those who have helped the police in retrieving the bodies from the quarry.

He pledged to provide support to the group for their bravery.

"We recognise and applaud the young people of Kware who went out of their way and took the lead in the retrieval efforts. Their industry and bravery will not go unrewarded," the County boss said.

The county boss said they have so far received 8 bodies and 12 body parts.

Sakaja assured residents that the county is committed to offering the necessary to all stakeholders.

"In as much as this is a homicide matter and a police case, we are working closely with the National Police and other relevant authorities during the investigations and identification of the deceased," Sakaja said.

"I urge the community to remain patient and supportive as authorities work tirelessly to bring closure to this tragic situation."
