An angry widow told the High Court in Eldoret that she is willing to  'slaughter and eat' the man accused of murdering her daughter.

Beatrice Wanyota pleaded with the court to inflict the same pain of brutal death against suspect Mustafa Idd.  Mustafa is accused of killing Vera Beauty College student Emma Wanyota at Moi’s Bridge in Uasin Gishu county four years ago.

The widow said if the man is released by the court, she would do everything possible "to kill him and chew his remains like a chewing gum".

“My husband died more than 25 years ago and then this man came to my own home where he attacked and killed my daughter brutally. If he is release him then I will act bizarre,” Wanyota said.

She gave her pre-sentencing views before Justice Reuben Nyakundi who  has been hearing the murder case against Mustafa.

Nyakundi said he will sentence the suspect on November 27. He was last month found guilty of murdering the beauty student.

Wanyota wept as she narrated how Mustafa raided her home and killed her daughter.

"He ransacked my house searching even my pants for what I have never known. I am a widow and it was so painful that he killed my daughter in the most brutal way," she said.

Wanyota claimed Mustafa and his relatives had also been threatening her family in and out of court.

But lawyer for the accused, Rioba Omboto, asked the court for leniency arguing that Mustafa was remorseful for the offence.

He said Mustafa committed the offence after being radicalised through religious teachings but he has since reformed.

Nyakundi had last month ruled that Mustafa was responsible for the murder of the 21-year-old student.

Emma’s body was found at her home, badly mutilated and with missing parts.

It is alleged that she was raped before her legs were chopped off on September 30, 2019.

In a testimony after the incident, the victim’s sister Sheila Wanyota said Mustafa was well-known to them and he was Emma’s ex-boyfriend.

"After parting ways with my sister in August, he had been threatening her and all the male contacts in her phonebook," she said.

The widow said the suspect had earlier threatened to kill Emma but she never thought the threat was serious.
