The Kakamega government has said
all striking nurses have to reapply for
their jobs.
The strike by the medics entered
day seven yesterday, with health
services remaining paralysed as the
government insisted there is no strike.
Head of communications Sumba Juma
yesterday said the nurses have until
Friday to return to work.
Sumba said
they conducted a headcount on Friday
to establish compliance.
The county on Wednesday
advertised vacancies, following the
strike.
Successful applicants will serve
a one-year contract.
It intends to hire
100 nursing officers III, 150 registered
nurses II
