The National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula has said that Kenyans have endorsed the formation of an inclusive government by President William Ruto.

Wetang’ula said that the failed Nane Nane protests last week despite spirited mobilisation by the Gen Zs were a confirmation that Kenyans have welcomed the president's decision.

“Kenya, like other countries in the world, is battling its own problems. Destroying the country through violence is not a solution to the challenges,” Wetang’ula said.

“Of importance is for Kenyans to close ranks and find solutions to their problems. We don’t want Kenyans to flee from Kenya to other countries because their leaders are fighting."

Speaking at Mukweya Catholic Church in Kabuchai Constituency, Bungoma County during a church service on Sunday, Wetang’ula said the formation of a government of national unity is essential for ensuring stability and peace in the country.

He said that only God saved the country on June 25 when the young Kenyans overran Parliament.

“I was in the chambers when around 2:30 pm I was informed that things were not good and adjourned the sitting. Someone wearing strange things had taken up the speaker’s seat and was making noise when he was arrested, he was found with knives and acid,” Wetangula said.

Wetang'ula stated that the opposition leaders included in the Cabinet were tested and had the capability of driving the government agenda successfully.
