A 51-year-old teacher has been arraigned at a Malaba Law Court for allegedly sodomising ten primary school pupils on various dates in 2023.

The suspect, who appeared before Resident Magistrate Zawadi Ogange denied all the allegations and was released on Sh300,000 bond.

The accused also faced another charge of displaying pornographic materials to minors aged 14–17.

The accused is alleged to have committed the indecent acts while serving as the deputy head teacher at a school in Teso North Sub-county.

An application by the prosecution to amend the charge sheet was opposed by the accused’s lawyer Paul Milimo.

He accused Prosecutor Tonny Rotich's move, terming it an ambush and unfair to his client.

However, the court rejected the plea to amend the charge sheet.

The matter is set for hearing on November 11, 2024, with witnesses, most of whom are pupils.
