Normalcy has been witnessed in Mombasa ahead of the planned three-day Azimio demonstrations that start today.

Azimio leaders have vowed to continue with their demonstrations sanctioned by opposition chief Raila Odinga.

This is despite the Inspector General of Police Japheth Koome declaring the demos illegal.

On Tuesday, the opposition said they will continue with their planned demonstrations from the GPO within the town centre.

A spot check by the Star,  despite the calmness being witnessed, a few shops remain closed with few cars on the road.
