Anti-government protesters in Kisumu have sent a message to police on why they have been holding the demos.
On a placard, the protesters told police they are not looking for a fight but are simply fighting for the welfare of every Kenyan, police included.
"Police officer, don't fight us! We are not fighting you. We are fighting for you and us," the placard read.
Kisumu protesters sent the message on Wednesday as Azimio supporters held a vigil in memory of those who died from alleged police brutality during Azimio's demos.
Azimio Chief Raila Odinga called off the demos that had been planned for Wednesday, to hold the vigil.
"Kenyans should take time off to remember those who departed from the chaos that erupted during demos," he said.
Raila also visited the victims in hospitals in Nairobi.
The 'president' of Sufuria Revolution Movement, Obungu Owich, also visited victims at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital in Kisumu.
