Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale on Tuesday paid his respects to Indian soldiers who died during the world war.
"Today, I was privileged to visit and lay a wreath at India's War Memorial site in New Delhi. With a message of gratitude and tribute to the fallen soldiers who paid the ultimate price, we honor and salute them," he said in a statement.
"Honor to our gallant soldiers who made it possible for the peace that we now enjoy, Allah Akbar!"

Duale added that the noble deeds of the gallant soldiers are not taken for granted.
"All freedoms are a product of sacrifice! We are free and independent in our different ways because others had to fight, shed blood and lay down their lives for us," he said.
