Kericho Green Stadium on Friday opened its gates for the much-awaited Mashujaa Day celebrations.
Kenyans of all walks of life braved the cold water to show up for the celebrations filling the stadium by 7 a.m.
In attendance were also key government dignitaries including Cabinet Secretaries, PSs, and representatives from various labour unions.
Those who graced the event which was presided over by President William Ruto include Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Kericho Governor Erick Mutai, Interior CS Kithure Kindiki, Defence CS Aden Duale, Gender CS Aisha Jumwa and Sports CS Ababu Namwamba.
COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli, Majority Party Whip Sylvanus Osoro, Attorney General Justine Muturi and Health CS Susan Nakumicha were also present.
However, key opposition leaders including Azimio boss Raila Odinga were a no-show.
