Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki on Wednesday embarked on a crucial mission to the heart of the North Rift Valley region, visiting West Pokot and Samburu counties.

These areas, long plagued by banditry, are undergoing a transformative phase as part of the government's robust response to re-establish stability and safety.

In a significant move, aimed at revitalizing the region's education sector for the upcoming 2024 school calendar, the government has initiated an ambitious project to rehabilitate 30 schools across the North Rift Valley.

This initiative aligns with President William Ruto's directive to restore and reopen all educational institutions previously shuttered due to security concerns, with a set reopening date of January 8, 2023.

CS Kindiki, demonstrating an exemplary hands-on approach, delved into the heart of the rehabilitation efforts.

His visit to Cheptulel Boys Secondary School and Sapulmoi Primary School in the Sigor Constituency of West Pokot wasn't just a mere inspection.

Kindiki actively engaged in the rehabilitation process, assisting in the physical labour of moving building materials and even partaking in the painting of school walls.
