Kahariri is the 12th CDF, taking over the late General Francis Ogolla
A colorful ceremony unfolded at the Department of Defence (DoD) in Kilimani on Tuesday as the military hosted an elaborate change of guard ceremony for Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Charles Kahariri.
The ceremony was held under customary military traditions in which the CDF inspected a Guard of Honour mounted by Kenya Air Force troops.
He was then handed the KDF command flag after inspecting the old and new guard troops in line mounted by soldiers from the Tri Serve.
Kahariri is the 12th CDF, taking over the late General Francis Ogolla who passed away in a tragic aircraft accident in Elgeyo Marakwet on April 8, 2024.
The new CDF was sworn in on May 3, by President William Ruto.
