President William Ruto returned to the country on Monday morning following his participation in the G7 and the Ukraine Peace summits in Italy and Switzerland.
In pictures and videos seen by the Star, President Ruto returned aboard a Kenya Airways flight.
He was received by senior government officials including Interior CS Kithure Kindiki and PS Raymond Omollo.
Others were Kenya Air Force Commander, Major General Fatuma Ahmed, National Assembly and Senate majority leaders Kimani Ichung'wah and Aaron Cheruiyot, among others.
The President left the country on Thursday, June 13, on a chartered plane to Brindisi, Puglia, Italy for the G7 Summit.
He then flew with the same chartered plane to Bürgenstock, Switzerland, for a high-level meeting to forge peace in Ukraine.
In May, there was an uproar over how much Ruto had spent on chartering a private jet for his state visit to the United States.
The President would later clarify that the figures, placed at over Sh200 million by critics was false and that the government only paid Sh10 million while the other cost was covered by his friends.
