President William Ruto launched former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's African Union Commission chairmanship campaign at State House, Nairobi.
As this happened, the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (Kuppet) sustained the teacher's strike.
Throughout the week, Kenyans have been at the edge of their seats anticipating each new event.

Raila AUC bid
President William Ruto officially launched former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's AUC candidacy bid.
The event held at State House, Nairobi, was attended by three Presidents from East Africa.
They are Samia Suluhu (Tanzania), Yoweri Museveni (Uganda) and Salva Kiir (South Sudan).
Also in attendance were Burundi's Prime Minister, Gervais Ndirakobuca, and former Presidents Jakaya Kikwete (Tanzania) and Olusegun Obasanjo (Nigeria).
Rwanda's Paul Kagame was represented by his Foreign Affairs Minister, General James Kabarebe.
Raila is seeking to replace Moussa Faki of Chad, whose term comes to an end early next year.
Ruto's Nyanza tour
President William Ruto was warmly welcomed in Nyanza for his development tour.
Ruto and his entourage were welcomed by traditional dancers in Homa Bay as residents came out in large numbers.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and several cabinet secretaries accompanied the President.
The President visited Migori, Homa Bay, Siaya, and Kisumu counties.
The Head of State focused on the construction of roads and government investment in education, water, and electricity, among other development projects.
Teachers' strike
Kuppet members in various parts of the country have continued with their strike, insisting they will not end until the government meets their demands.
This is despite a court order. The boycott started on Monday, August 26.
However, TSC obtained court orders suspending the Kuppet's strike, but the teachers maintained their strike.
Katiba Day
Residents in Dandora came out to mark 14 years since the promulgation of the constitution.
August 27, marks 14 years since the enactment of the 2010 Constitution.
There were songs, dances, and skits performed during the Kiwake Festival.
Gachagua's morning walk
In what has become his early morning habit, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Thursday morning took a walk in Kisumu City.
Clad in a black and red tracksuit bearing his name "Riggy G", the DP also interacted with residents on the way.
Others took the chance to take selfies with the DP.
Gachagua described his walk as "mind-boosting to have a feel of the beauty and breeze from the nearby Lake Victoria".
NYS Pass out parade
President Ruto presided over the Pass-out Parade of the National Youth Service (NYS) trainees in Gilgil, Nakuru County.
Ruto congratulated and commended the recruits for demonstrating exemplary honour, discipline, patriotism, a willingness to learn and the courage to take on new challenges.
The Head of State encouraged the recruits to stay the course and pursue the path of success by upholding diligence, commitment, integrity, teachability and a strong sense of service.
Ida Odinga's birthday party
The wife of former Prime Minister Ida Odinga celebrated her 74th birthday instyle on Saturday.
The venue was transformed into a floral wonderland, adorned with exquisite flower arrangements and elegant burners displaying heartfelt birthday messages.
Ida radiated grace in a stunning long green dress, with touches of gold.
Her makeup was flawlessly applied complementing her look.
Raila Odinga complemented the occasion by donning a coordinated green outfit, green trousers and a matching shirt.
