President William Ruto has departed for New York in the United States to attend the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Ruto was accompanied by First Lady Rachel Ruto among other officials.
The President was seen off by the Chief of Defence Forces, Charles Kahariri and Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki, among other senior security officials.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was missing.
Gachagua in an interview said he had not been briefed about the time Ruto would leave the country.

The President will take part in high-level discussions on bridging the digital divide, promoting inclusion in the digital economy, and ensuring that emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data governance are managed in an equitable manner, among other engagements.
