LSK's Eric Mutua to handover to new president Isaac Okero

Outgoing LSK president Eric Mutua will officially

hand over leadership to Isaac Okero on Thursday, following the end of his four-year term.

Mutua held two consecutive terms, becoming the longest serving leader of the Law Society of Kenya.

Okero won a

on February 25, garnering 1,581 votes against James Mwamu’s 1,378 and Allen Gichuhi’s 1,371.

He has practised law for the last 23 years and has been a member of the bar for 26 years.

The Kisumu-based lawyer served as LSK's chairman for the Western Kenya branch between 1999 and 2001.

He was also a member of the Okoa LSK group that comprised young lawyers agitated for reforms in the running of LSK.

The handover will coincide with LSK’s Annual General Meeting at Bomas of Kenya.
