Murang'a Woman Representative Sabina Chege has reiterated that she will vote for Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

She said that August 9 will be the first time her family will cast their vote in favour of the former prime minister.

“Mimi mwenyewe na familia yangu na marafiki wangu hatujawahi mpigia kura. Lakini tarehe tisa mwezi wa nane kura yangu itaenda kwa Raila,”she said.

This translates to, “My family, friends and I have never voted for him. But on August 9, my vote will be his.”

Sabina spoke on Monday during Azimio la Umoja campaigns in Turkana County.

Raila, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed were in attendance at the campaigns.

Sabina welcomed court's decision to bar the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) from proceeding with a case where she claimed that some Jubilee MPs, her included, rigged the 2017 elections in favour of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“Today the court ordered that they leave me alone and concentrate on safeguarding the votes. Let’s thank God,” she said.

The Woman rep has been under fire from IEBC over the claims she made during a rally in Vihiga County in February.

The Commission, however, could not start its investigations until the court cleared her.

The Murang’a woman MP has been an ardent ODM supporter in Mount Kenya despite being a member of the Jubilee party.
