ODM leader Raila Odinga's Press Secretary Dennis Onsarigo has confirmed his appointment as the Chief of Staff in Nyamira County.

Speaking to the Star, Onsarigo said he was excited to have been appointed to the position.

"I am excited. I commit to serve the people of Nyamira with utter professionalism," he said.

He however said he could not disclose more concerning his job at Raila's camp.

The former investigative journalist will undertake various mandates including managing the office of Governor Amos Nyaribo. 

He will also be expected to work closely with all arms of the County Government, to ensure the county projects run smoothly.

Onsarigo was appointed to Raila's presidential campaigns secretariat on Sunday, February 13.

Before then, he was the Director of Communications in Taita Taveta County, "where he was the link between the County/National governments and the Council of Governors".

He gained publicity for hosting Case Files and Inside Story programmes on KTN.

Onsarigo quit the mainstream media after bagging his Taita Taveta job in July 2018.

He previously worked with The Standard Group and Nation Media Group as an investigative journalist.
