The widow of former Education CS George Magoha, Barbara Odudu has said her mum had a vision Magoha would be great.

Barbara said her husband was meant to go to Zambia to study medicine but went to Nigeria.

Speaking on Thursday during his requiem mass at Consolata Shrine in Westlands, Barbara said her mum had a vision when Magoha requested to marry her.

"Mum prayed and the vision came. She had to allow me to get married to him," she said.

Barbara said her mum told Magoha to ensure she completed her education and would take care of her.

"When my mum passed on, my husband thought his life was over," she said.

"Magoha's pillars were God that made him and Starehe boys that moulded him."

Barbara said people said Magoha was obsessed with success because he always planned.

"I never complained, I had him for 40 years. We were 18, he looked over my back and I looked over him. Marriage is not always 50-50," she said.

"At times it would be 80-20. Magoha was happy to the very end. One thing I liked about him is he allowed me to grow and my professional career was important to him."
