Former IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati now says he is ready to address the server issue that has always come up in Kenyan elections.

In a statement on Wednesday, Chebukati said he will make clear the contentious server issue at the Annual Electoral Integrity Conference in July.

Chebukati said his project dubbed the Role of Technology in Improving the Integrity of the electoral process in Kenya had been picked for the conference slated for July 3 to July 7, 2023.

"I am pleased to announce that my project titled "Role of Technology in improving the integrity of the electoral process in Kenya" has been accepted for presentation at @ElectIntegrity's Annual Conference to be held on July 3-7! My talk will demystify "the server" in Kenyan polls," he said.

The Electoral Integrity Project (EIP) is based at the Royal Military College of Canada.

It among other things, seeks to strengthen elections in contests around the world through innovative and policy-relevant scientific research that achieves international standing in the social sciences," Chebukati added.

This comes amidst calls by the Opposition to have IEBC servers opened for an audit of the August 2022 presidential poll.

They have also made this part of their demands as they call for electoral reforms in the country.

The Azimio side led by Raila Odinga has previously said that if the servers show that Ruto won, they will accept the results.

They claim results from an IEBC insider at their disposal show that Raila won by over eight million votes but the results were doctored to favour President William Ruto.

"My people, they stole the election, the whistleblower clearly shows it. Otherwise, they’d open the server; what’s the fear? They then corrupted the Supreme Court as they did with the IEBC," Raila said.
