Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has continued to defend the proposed Finance Bill, 2023.

Speaking in Roysambu on Tuesday, the ODM legislator said the Bill will make lives better in future.

"Hiii bill ni mzuri na itaetea wabunge pesa kunzisha miradi kama hii. Maisha itakuwa ngumu laikini maisha yatabadilika," she said.

She spoke during the official groundbreaking ceremony of Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja’s School Feeding Program, Dishi na County.

The groundbreaking will see the construction of central kitchens take place in 10 subcounties.

The construction is expected to take about 10 weeks with the first meal to be served on the first day of the third term of this school year.

Going further, Passaris said she will continue to support the Bill until it passes.

Last week, Passaris went against the wave in the opposition outfit ODM and voted in favour of the Bill.

This is despite Raila affirming that the opposition was not in agreement with Kenya Kwanza's plan to impose more taxes on an already struggling population.

Raila asked his troops in Parliament to shoot down the Bill saying its passage would prolong suffering for Kenyans.

Passaris threw her weight behind President William Ruto’s housing levy which is among the proposals in the Finance Bill, 2023.

At the moment, she is among 28 ODM MPs who will face disciplinary action over the Finance Bill vote.
