President William Ruto has urged the newly sworn-in Principal Secretaries to ensure that public funds are utilized properly.
"I do expect that you will work best to ensure that every public servant is held to account and enumerated based on their performance," Ruto said.
The President was speaking at State Hosue on Tuesday after presiding over the swearing-in of Salome Wairimu Muhia-Beacco ( PS for Correctional Services) and Anne Njoki Wang'ombe (PS for Performance Management and Delivery Services).
PS Wairimu was nominated following the resignation of Esther Ngero on May 23.
Wairimu will work under the Ministry of Interior while Njoki will be in the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary.
President Ruto told PS Njoki that he expects her department to work with the Salaries and Remuneration Commission in all the other government agencies.
"...To sure that we take the country towards the balance between development resources and resources spent on wages and salaries," Ruto said.
He also said that he looking forward to and expecting that PS Njoki's department, will start a digitization process of all payroll.
The two PS were nominated for the positions last month and had been transmitted to the National Assembly for consideration by Parliament.
