Former Azimio leader Raila Odinga's aide and advisor Silas Jakakimba has called out the Opposition leader's handlers, over a planned roadshow from Kisumu to Homa Bay over the weekend.
According to Jakakimba, the plan will paint the former Prime Minister in bad light, as it will coincide with the thanksgiving celebration of Interior PS Raymond Omollo.
He insisted that Raila is a man of good international standing and such theatrics will have him look like he is fighting PS Omollo.
"Handlers of Raila Odinga should be aware that politically, announcing so late in the day, plans to stage a road-show from Kisumu to Homa-Bay on the same day as PS Raymond Omollo 's Thanksgiving, reflects badly on Jakom. PM enjoys a stabled national, regional, and global leadership stature that doesn't allow theatrics indicative of a fight on the Person and Office of PS Omollo - a model Son of the Lake by all standards," he said.
Jakakimba was reacting to an announcement by Raila allies on Thursday of a plan by the Opposition leader to hold parallel rallies in Homa Bay county over the weekend.
The rallies will be to counter President William Ruto's planned visit to the region.
On Saturday, Ruto will among other things tour the expansive Karachuonyo subcounty to attend the thanksgiving ceremony of Interior PS Raymond Omollo at Oriwo Boys High School.
Several senior Kenya Kwanza government officials including Cabinet secretaries, Principal secretaries and MPs are expected to attend the ceremony.
