The Judiciary has said the Appellate court will on Friday render judgments and rulings in 102 appeal cases and applications that were heard across five towns and cities.

In a statement via its Twitter handle, the Judiciary said the verdicts and rulings will be delivered virtually and via email.

"The Court of Appeal will tomorrow deliver 102 Judgments and Rulings of appeals and applications heard in Nairobi, Mombasa, Nyeri, Nakuru and Eldoret. They shall be delivered virtually and via email."

The Judiciary has over the past decade been implementing active case management in criminal proceedings and other strategies to address backlog.

It includes the adoption of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in petty cases and the trial of cases virtually.
