A JKIA court will on Tuesday rule whether police will continue detaining four suspects who were arrested over the seizure of a haul of narcotics, psychotropic substances, and Sh13.4 million in cash for five more days.

This is after the prosecution sought for five more days to detain the suspects to ascertain the ages of two minors.

A miscellaneous file was to be closed on Monday after five days which the court allowed police to probe the suspects lapsed.

The four were to be charged or set free.

The suspects through lawyer Danstan Omari opposed the application arguing that five days were enough to get the ages of five minors who were arrested among the two other suspects.

The Court will make a ruling at 2.30 pm.

The four were Wednesday, August 16, presented before a court at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where the prosecution successfully asked for more time to hold them.

The court allowed police to detain them until August 21.

The court ordered the Sh13.4 million that was recovered be kept at the Central Bank of Kenya.

The court also ordered the suspects to be taken for various tests before they take a plea.
