A businesswoman code named Mathee wa Ngara will today know her fate after being in detention for the last five days over allegations of drug possession and trafficking.

The police had asked the court to grant them five days pending further investigations into the probe.

A total of 30 bags containing dry green material weighing 622 kgs suspected to be cannabis sativa together with Sh 13.4 million were found in her house.

The monies have since been frozen by the High Court and are in the custody of the assets recovery agency.

Implementation of the Finance Act

The Supreme Court will this morning give further directions on the case challenging the implementation of the Finance Act.

The directions are to be issued virtually.

The last time the matter was in court, Deputy Registrar Bernard Kasavuli directed the CS Treasury Professor Njuguna Ndungu and others to file their responses in the case.
