An Anti-corruption court will on Wednesday deliver judgment in a case where former NHIF chief executive Richard Kerich is charged with conspiracy to defraud the fund of Sh116.9 million. -suggest possible title

Kerich was charged alongside NHIF assistant manager David Chingi, Marwa Fadhili Chacha, Toddy Mohadana, Anthony Kalathir Chako and Clinic Healthcare in 2015.

However, the trial court set Clinix Healthcare CEO Mahadhana and director Chacko free in a brief ruling that found Kerich and the other accused persons with a case to answer.

The judgment will be delivered by anti-corruption magistrate Eunice Nyutu.  

Child trafficking case

A Nairobi court will today render its judgment on a child trafficking case against two social workers of Mama Lucy Hospital.

The judgement will be delivered by Milimani senior principal magistrate Esther Kimilu.

In January this year, two social workers who were charged with child trafficking at Mama Lucy Hospital after a BBC expose two years ago were found with a case to answer.

In her ruling, Kimilu said after considering submissions of defence and prosecution, the court was satisfied that the two had a case to answer and were put on their defence.

The two have, however, defended themselves in the case and asked court to acquit them for lack of evidence.

In the case, Fred Leparan and Selina Adundo have been charged in connection to child trafficking at Mama Lucy Hospital.

Man to be charged with robbery with violence

Elsewhere, a man linked to multiple robbery incidences in Langata and its environment to be charged with robbery with violence.

The suspect is said to have used force to rob a businessman of his items worth Sh800,000.

He was arrested after detectives from Langata police station nabbed him following a tip-off from the public.

Man in possession of guns to be charged

A man accused of possessing several guns in Kawangware will be sentenced today after pleading guilty to the charges.

Tonny Paul Omare will be sentenced by Kibera Chief Magistrate Ann Mwangi.

He was allegedly arrested with Carbine M416, Gilboe, CZ and Desert Eagle Soae pistol all without licence.

The offence is said to have been committed on August 31 in Kawangware Area within Nairobi County.
