Suspected cult leader Paul Mackenzie is expected back to court after spending 156 days in custody since his arrest on April 15. 

The DPP will on Monday decide whether they will charge Mackenzie and his co-accused with the deaths of more than 429 people, whose bodies were been exhumed from the now infamous Shakahola Forest.

Ex-Mungiki leader Maina Njenga to appear before court

Former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga will appear before a Makadara magistrate court for a pretrial for allegedly planning demonstrations.

Njenga had allegedly been abducted in Banana area, Kiambu on Saturday night.

He was on Sunday night released by his suspected kidnappers after 24 hours.

Njenga was dumped in Limuru, Kiambu County at about 10.15 pm and offered fare home.

He then hopped onto a motorbike to his Banana home where he had been picked up by his alleged abductors on Saturday night.

National Dialogue Committee to meet for talks 

The National Dialogue Committee will meet at Bomas of Kenya for the ongoing talks.

The Azimio dialogue team reportedly told the principals that there were inordinate delays in the talks that must be addressed to meet the deadline.

The 10-member committee was given 60 days to deliberate on the issues raised by both Kenya Kwanza and Azimio and then prepare a report that will be tabled in Parliament.

NCIC to launch the Nairobi Arbitration Week programme

The Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration will launch the programme for the Nairobi Arbitration Week scheduled for September 18 to 22, 2023 at Radisson Blu Hotel Upperhill.

The week will consist of a series of events including a Young Practitioner’s event, a Judiciary event, a SOAS Counsel in Arbitration training as well as organisation led side events.
