DP's bag of goodies for Isiolo schools, residents after thanksgiving event

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Saturday visited Isiolo County where he left bags of goodies for residents and various schools in the county.

Gachagua was in Isiolo for the thanksgiving service of Petroleum Principal Secretary Mohamed Liban.

During his address, the DP handed money for development to various schools in the county.

The schools include Almasi School for the Disabled, Ramadhan Integrated Primary School and Isiolo Boys High School.

“I have been to the school called Almasi School for the Disabled and I have found some good work going on. I have told the governor and county commissioner that there are things they need to finish on registration and once done the government will send Sh5 million for the school,” Gachagua said.

"There is this school called Ramadhan Integrated Primary School the PS has told me it has a problem and it needs assistance and I have come with Sh5 million for the school."

The deputy president also gave Sh10 million to Isiolo Boys and an additional Sh500,000 for the students to have a party in the school.

“The PS schooled here and we must assist the school,” he said.

Gachagua called on those responsible for the funds to ensure they are put to proper use.

He also pledged to return with something for Isiolo Girls the next time he returns to the county.

Gachagua also gifted the women groups that entertained guests at the thanksgiving service with Sh1 million for their efforts.

Nimeambiwa hao mama wako group kumi na tatu. Nitapatia PS millioni moja ya hao mama ndio wajue tumeshukuru vile mmetukaribisha,” he said.

This translates to, “I have been told there are 13 groups of women. I will give the PS Sh1 million for the women so that they know we are grateful for how they have welcomed us.”
